The Problem

Warmies became a Nostra customer in early 2025 and saw clear speed gains across their Shopify storefront. By late 2025, their team was preparing for a meaningful round of in-house development work on Shopify theme changes, third-party app updates, and infrastructure adjustments with Shopify’s Professional Services. They wanted to test under their own conditions with Nostra.

So on October 8, 2025, they left.

For 30 days, their team owned the performance story end-to-end. They worked through Shopify theme updates, third-party app improvements, and site speed optimizations with their internal team and Shopify resources.

It was a real business question if Warmies could get the speed they needed from Shopify alone, after a focused optimization sprint, without keeping Nostra in the stack?

If the answer was yes, they could simplify their tech stack. If the answer was no, they would know exactly how much incremental value Nostra was creating.

After 30 days, they had their answer.

The in-house work helped clean up the site, but the speed gains still did not match what Nostra delivered at the edge.

The Solution

On November 9, 2025, Warmies turned Nostra back on for an A/B test.

This was not Nostra being compared against an old, unoptimized version of the site. Warmies had already completed their in-house speed sprint. The test measured Nostra against the improved Shopify stack their team had just worked on.

There was no replatform, no migration, and no additional engineering project. Nostra simply layered back in front of the storefront for the test.

Nostra added:

  • Edge-cached HTML for homepage, collection, and product routes, first-byte responses served.
  • Image and asset optimization at the edge, additive to what their dev work had tightened up
  • Full compatibility with the Shopify changes the team had just shipped Nostra slotted in front of the new stack without requiring rework

The key point: Warmies had already done the in-house speed work. The A/B test showed Nostra still made the site meaningfully faster and more efficient.
